Residential Direct Support Professional

Regular Full Time or Part Time
Paid Training

The Residential DSP supports adult individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities in our residential program.  We offer the individuals we support an opportunity for personal growth in an environment that promotes personal dignity and self-worth.

Required Education and Experience

  • Eighteen years of age with a high school diploma or GED;

Or:

  • Twenty-one years of age
  • Completes the training requirements
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable operating transportation, and proof of auto insurance

Residential Support Services/Responsibilities

  • Provides residential training to facilitate the acquisition of communication skills, sensory motor skills, and daily living and self-help skills
  • Assists with daily living, such as ambulation, dressing, grooming, eating, toileting, bathing, meal planning and preparation, laundry, budgeting and financial assistance, home care and cleaning
  • Provides emotional support, advice and assistance to help the individual work through problems
  • Provides or makes arrangements for transportation services, activities and appointments as needed
  • Assists individuals with the administration of their medications and ensures that medications are properly accounted for and properly labeled
  • Completes daily documentation, such as daily staff notes, training objectives, medication administration records, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Residential Supervisor or designee

Day Training Support Staff

Paid Training

The Day Training Support Staff supports adult individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities at our Adult Day Training Center.  Our on-site services help the people we support acquire skills and abilities for and/or community participation.  Services are provided in a variety of community settings, each promoting inclusion and natural supports.

Required Education and Experience

  • Eighteen years of age with a high school diploma or GED;

Or:

  • Twenty-one years of age
  • Completes the training requirements

  • Assists in planning and instituting activities of choice for individuals
  • Assists with daily living, such as ambulation, dressing, grooming, eating, toileting, bathing, meal planning and preparation, laundry, budgeting and financial assistance, home care and cleaning
  • Provides emotional support, advice and assistance to help the individual work through problems
  • Ensures that individual training objectives are documented to ensure the individual is meeting or working toward personal goals and chosen outcomes
  • Assists individuals with the administration of their medications and ensures that medications are properly accounted for and properly labeled
  • Completes daily documentation, such as daily staff notes, training objectives, medication administration records, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Day Training Supervisor or designee

Supported Employment Staff

Regular Full Time or Part Time
Paid Training

The Supported Employment Staff supports adult individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities to acquire and maintain employment in the community.

Supported Employment Staff Services/Responsibilities

  • Implements and manages the supervision and training of individuals supported in community-based jobs
  • Develops and maintains positive working relationships with community employers for competitive placements
  • Assists the individual supported in determining what type of employment may best suit that person, taking into consideration their preferences, strengths and individual circumstances
  • Assists individual supported with writing resumes, completion of job applications, and developing job interview skills
  • Develops a thorough understanding of all tasks comprising the job by working on the job with the individual supported, as required
  • Transports individuals supported to and from employment sites as required by the job situation
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Supported Employment Supervisor or designee
